We’re pleased to announce that we will be re-opening with a limited programme on Friday 11 December. We would like to say a massive thank you for your patience, support and kindness during this unusual time.
We will be hosting a few events this year with a view to expanding our programme in 2021. Spaces like ours have found it more difficult than some to re-open because we often need to sell the whole room to make it viable for the artists. Whilst that isn’t currently possible we’ve been looking for other ways to get you back into the theatre and think that our flagship Comedy Club and annual pantomime are the perfect place to start. Here’s a little information on how we’ve made these events covid-secure.
Comedy Club - Still four fantastic comics and our famous pizzas but this time you can bring your own drinks along. Tables are more spread out and we'll be using staggered arrival times.
Pantomime: The Wizard of Oz – We’ve changed the seating plans to allow for social distancing and we’re working on a way for you to be able to order goody bags to your seats. We’ll again be using staggered arrival times to help you get to your seats safely.
For all of the events we're planning in the next few months we have adjusted the seating plan to allow for social distancing but many of the shows we host here are only viable for the artist if we fill all or at least most of our seats. Because of this you might find that future shows are being sold without a socially distanced seating plan. If, by the time that shows date comes around, restrictions haven't been eased we will usually arrange to postpone the show and would certainly never host an event which was unsafe or didn't meet the government guidance.
The majority of our staff are working from home so you can still purchase tickets for future shows but if you need to speak with us please use the contact us form and we can give you a call back.
If you are waiting for postal tickets we hope to start dispatching these soon.
If you have, or are considering, purchasing tickets for an upcoming event and are worried about the show being cancelled or postponed please don’t be! The majority of shows which cannot go ahead because of the closure will be postponed and in instances where a new date cannot be found we are processing refunds quickly. We will contact you (by email where we can) when we have information about individual shows, please make sure your contact information is up to date and, if you were planning to visit us in the next few months, that you are checking your emails regularly.
Until a change in show details has been confirmed we cannot offer to change your tickets, however, should a show be postponed you will be given the following three options.
- You may keep your ticket and attend the event on the new date.
- You may request a refund for store credit or use the value of your tickets against tickets for another show.
- You may request a refund to your payment card (if you paid with cash we will organise a BACs refund)
You may request a refund at any time after a show’s postponement up until 30 days before the new date.
As some people are unable to make new event dates, some events which were previously sold out now have tickets available. If you missed out on something last time be sure to check to see if we have new seats available.
Thousands of customers who hold tickets for a show which has been postponed have been able to retain their tickets for the new date. Thank you! By retaining tickets or swapping your tickets for store credit you are ensuring the future of our diverse programme for those who can’t afford it during this crisis. There are other ways to support us or any other arts venue here but whilst you’re here we want to thank all of you again. You fill the Corn Exchange with life – we miss you, and can’t wait until we can start to welcome you all back!
